K'NEX launches contest for tickets to NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover

K'NEX to appear as primary sponsor on JR Motorsports’ No. 88 Chevrolet

HATFIELD, Pa. – K'NEX, America’s building toy company, is partnering with Dover International Speedway and JR Motorsports to celebrate the release of the first NASCAR® licensed building sets from K’NEX and to launch the 2010 events at the Monster Mile with the “Guess the Number of Parts” contest.

The contest is part of a big weekend for K'NEX, as the brand will appear as primary sponsor on the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet during the NASCAR Nationwide Series™ "Heluva Good! 200" race on May 15.

The contest invites K’NEX and NASCAR fans to guess the number of parts in a NASCAR No. 88 K'NEX Car replica measuring 5 ft. long, made entirely of K’NEX parts. It's currently on display at K'NEX headquarters. The 100 closest guesses will each win two tickets to the Heluva Good! 200 on May 15, 2010 at Dover International Speedway to watch the actual No. 88 K’NEX Chevrolet compete in the 11th Nationwide Series event of the 2010 season. To enter the contest fans should click here between April 12 and May 2, 2010.

“We’re so pleased to give fans the opportunity to see their favorite cars and drivers up close and in person,” said K'NEX President Michael Araten. “NASCAR fans know that there is nothing like race day excitement. We’re thrilled to be a part of the action both on the track and in stands for the Nationwide Series Race.”

The first K’NEX NASCAR building toys to debut were Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 Pepsi car and Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 National Guard car. They are currently available at Target and Toys ‘R’ Us. Additional sets will be released in July 2010. The building sets include NASCAR’s most popular drivers, and enough cars, parts, and accessories to create an entire NASCAR world!
