Hello race fans and welcome to the first installment of the "Monster Mile Insider" in
2012!
With the
holiday season now behind us, we here at the Monster Mile are gearing up
for an exciting 2012 race season, as the Daytona 500 is just a little more than
a month away and our first race weekend here at Dover - June 1-3, 2012 - is just 137 days, if you're counting!
As we inch
closer to our first of two race weekends this year, we have a lot of exciting
things happening at the Monster Mile that you can read about right here. Scroll

Ticket
prices still low for 2012 race weekends!
Even if you
missed out on the renewal period for the June 1-3, 2012 or Sept. 28-30, 2012
race weekends, you're still able to save some cash on your Dover race tickets
as long as you purchase them now, during our value pricing period. During this
time, you can save close to $20 on your tickets in some seating sections. The
value period ends two weeks out from each race weekend, and prices will then

Monster
Mile begins process of widening grandstand seats
In an
effort to continue increasing the enjoyment of races at Dover International
Speedway, as well as the comfort level for the fans that enjoy the events in
person, the track has started the process of widening its grandstand seats from
18" to 22" beginning with seating in Turns 2 and 3. The process will be

 5-hour
ENERGY renews partnership with Dover International Speedway
When the
NASCAR Nationwide Series rolls into the Monster Mile for its June 2, 2012 race,
it will do so with a familiar name attached to it as 5-hour ENERGY is returning
for its second straight year as the title sponsor of the spring event at Dover.
The renewed partnership for the "5-hour ENERGY 200" will give race fans and
visitors to Dover Downs Hotel & Casino a chance to sample this great
product, and signifies yet another step in 5-hour ENERGY's growing presence in

Miles
the Monster enters the race for President of the United States
Late in
2011, a huge announcement came out of Dover, Del., as Miles the Monster,
professional monster and track icon for Dover International Speedway, announced
he was running for President of the United States in 2012. Miles has already
launched his campaign and made the public aware of the changes he'd like to
make if elected, running under the slogan: "Concrete Change in 2012!" To learn

...that the track record in
qualifying at the Monster Mile is held by former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
driver Jeremy Mayfield? Piloting his No. 19 Dodge, Mayfield made it around the
track in 22.288 seconds at a speed of 161.522 mph on June 4, 2004 to win the
pole for the June 6, 2004 "MBNA America 400: A Salute to Heroes" NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series race. He finished the race in eighth place, while Mark Martin found
his way to Sunoco Victory Lane that day.
